Mission

Apple Community Development Corporation (Apple CDC) was founded in 2016 in Arlington, Texas, with the goal of making an economic impact in the communities where we serve. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we provide technical assistance to non-profit organizations, small businesses, and entrepreneurs, and work to give access to capital to underserved communities and minorities.

In partnership with SCORE Fort Worth, SBDC, and SBA, Apple CDC has achieved tremendous success in its mission, from offering over 361 classes with an enrollment of over 7,200 people primarily in downtown Arlington to creating over 200 non-profit organizations in Texas. We have also created at least 1000 new businesses in Texas, mentored over 600 clients, and assisted these companies and organizations in receiving over $5.0M and $3.0M in government contracts and grants, respectively.

We are currently in the process of applying for Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) certification and envision submitting the application by April 2023 under the new guidelines. Our focus remains on providing professional business education and services to small businesses while furthering our commitment to the local communities.

THE STAFF

TIMOTHY JACQUET – Founder, Chairman, President & Executive Director
Residing in Grand Prairie, Texas—a suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex— possesses more than 39 years of experience in nonprofit management and business financing.

Tim’s career began in the Archdiocese of the Galveston-Houston area, with community groups such as Catholic Charities, Innercity Catholic Schools, The Metropolitan Organization, church credit unions development, and the University of St. Thomas. After college, Tim joined AT&T as an equipment financing manager and later served as Sales Manager for AutoNation Toyota, where his team achieved an impressive climb from 167th to 14th in national sales volume.

In addition, Tim has owned several businesses in cosmetics, religious bookstores, and an IT company, the latter of which became a government contractor with the Department of Defense for almost two decades.

Tim started Apple Capital 11 years ago as an asset-based lending company with the aim of helping non-bankable companies get loans during the 2008 crash, and providing educational courses and information to small businesses; for which he developed a radio show aptly named ‘The Core Business Show”. In 2018, Apple Capital was gifted to Apple Community Development Corporation.

Tim has earned numerous awards as a highly respected contributor to the community in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Arlington, Texas, having been named one of the ‘Emerging Leaders’ for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex by the Small Business Administration in 2016.   For the past three years, he has served as Vice Chairman for the SCORE Fort Worth Chapter and was honored with the ‘Volunteer of The Year award in 2018. Additionally, in the last nine years, Tim has served as the Director of Liturgy & Music as well as Pastoral Advisor for Development at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, TX. Tim’s pride and joy are his families — his wife Tinita and his three children.
